Job DescriptionA progressive agricultural operation in New York is seeking a Field Agronomist to support crop production across a large-scale row crop and vegetable farm. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on crop scouting, soil sampling, and monitoring plant health throughout the growing season.Key Responsibilities:Conduct crop scouting across row crop and vegetable fieldsMonitor crop development, plant health, and field conditionsIdentify pests, diseases, weed pressure, and nutrient deficienciesPerform soil sampling and plant tissue sampling for agronomic analysisPrepare and organize samples for submission to agronomy labsAssist with soil test interpretation and fertility planningMaintain accurate scouting reports and field recordsCommunicate field observations and recommendations to farm managersSupport agronomy data collection, mapping, and recordkeepingCrop scouting across row crop and vegetable fieldsQualifications:Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Agriculture, or related field preferredExperience with crop scouting, soil sampling, agronomy, or farm production strongly preferredFamiliarity with soil testing procedures and agronomic lab processesKnowledge of row crops, vegetable crops, plant nutrition, and crop health indicatorsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsStrong observation, communication, and recordkeeping skillsAbility to work independently in a field-based roleLocation: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Western New YorkCompensation:$60,000 - $130,000 annual salary (based on experience)Full benefitsRelocation assistance availablePlease submit your resume to be considered.
