Chilled Water HVAC Technician / Duct Cleaning Specialist
Hunton Services, a division of Hunton Group, is seeking a skilled and motivated Chilled Water HVAC Technician / Duct Cleaning Specialist to support the service, maintenance, and performance of commercial HVAC systems and indoor air quality solutions. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining chilled water HVAC equipment while also performing professional duct cleaning and IAQ services. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Chilled Water HVAC Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial chilled water systems and HVAC equipment.
Service and repair chilled water air handlers, fan coil units, pumps, valves, VFDs, and minor controls.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections on HVAC and chilled water equipment.
Identify operational deficiencies and recommend repair or replacement solutions.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, piping schematics, and control sequences.
Verify system performance through pressure, temperature, airflow, and operational testing.
Complete service reports, documentation, and customer communication accurately and professionally.
Duct Cleaning / IAQ Responsibilities
Perform commercial HVAC duct cleaning services in accordance with the industry's best practices.
Operate duct cleaning equipment, including vacuums, negative air machines, brushes, and specialty tools.
Clean supply ducts, return ducts, diffusers, coils, drain pans, and HVAC system components.
Inspect duct systems and identify conditions affecting indoor air quality.
Recommend corrective actions related to cleanliness, microbial growth concerns, or system deficiencies.
Maintain the cleanliness of work areas and ensure protection of customer facilities.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of commercial HVAC experience preferred
Experience with chilled water systems required
Duct cleaning and IAQ experience preferred
Knowledge of HVAC electrical, controls, motors, pumps, and mechanical systems
Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems independently
EPA Certification preferred
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces
Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physical environments
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and perform physical labor for extended periods
Preferred Skills
Experience with chilled water balancing and hydronic systems
Experience with BAS/controls systems
Knowledge of IAQ products and services
NADCA certification preferred
Experience in healthcare, commercial, and industrial facilities preferred
