Mechanical Engineer - Santa Clara Mechanical EngineerWe are developing a revolutionary, low-cost single-molecule DNA sequencer that has the potential to improve lives through earlier disease screening and cancer diagnosis by combining biological and integrated circuit technologies.We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of consumable fluidic devices at Santa Clara. The ideal candidate will have an educational and/or professional background in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. This role will support consumable device components and surface chemistry teams across a variety of engineering activities.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport flowcell manufacturing, process development, and assembly activities. Assist senior engineers with SolidWorks design and engineering documentation. Perform dimensional and mechanical measurements, including data analysis and reporting. Conduct surface metrology and material characterization. Perform component testing, quality inspections, and visual evaluations. Prepare samples for external analytical testing. Manage component and subcomponent inventory. Prepare shipments and receive engineering materials and components. Provide timely support for multiple engineering projects and laboratory activities. Required QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline. 0–2 years of professional experience. Hands-on laboratory experience is preferred. Strong proficiency with SolidWorks. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or equivalent spreadsheet software. Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of microfabrication, microfluidics, or materials science. Experience with metrology or microscopy equipment. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment.
