Supply Chain Intern
The Supply Chain Intern participates in a structured rotation program across logistics center functions at the Midwest Logistics Center (MWLC). The intern gains hands-on experience at the individual contributor level in inbound, outbound, inventory control, and engineering operations, with the goal of connecting floor-level work to overall building flow and supply chain planning. This role is designed to develop practical understanding of DC operations in a real-world logistics environment and serves as a replicable model for future internship placements within DBI’s logistics network.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms hands-on work alongside associates in assigned rotation areas including inbound receiving, unit replenishment, outbound operations, and inventory control. (60%)Shadows leads, coordinators, and engineering staff to observe team management, operational planning, and systems-level decision-making. (20%)Participates in engineering and labor planning work, including exposure to labor management systems, engineered standards, and operational reporting. (10%)Completes end-of-rotation debrief conversations with supervisors and contributes observations to program documentation. (10%)Required SkillsAbility to follow directions, perform physical tasks, and adapt to varying work environments across departmentsBasic communication and observation skills; ability to ask questions and document learningsExperienceNo prior work experience required. This role is designed for students with no professional logistics or distribution background.EducationCurrently enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program; high school diploma or equivalent requiredPreferred QualificationsCurrently enrolled in an accredited supply chain, logistics, operations management, or related degree programCompleted at least one semester of coursework in supply chain, operations, or logistics
