**Job Description**:* **Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month*** **Annual Salary Pay: Target Salary is $50,000-$54,000 based on experience*** **Schedule: Monday- Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm*** **Hybrid: Novi, MI position (working up to 4 days from home, one day in office)*** Medical, Dental, Vision Benefits start at 30 Days* 401 (K) Savings Plan with a company match* Discounted employee stock purchase options* Quality employee discounts that actually save you money on tools, cars, appliances, travel and more* All major holidays paid and Paid time off within your first year* Up to 12 weeks paid maternity leave* Develop cost reductions as a result of packaging that is flexible to accommodate multiple products.* Create cost justification presentations to review with customer.* Develop packaging guidelines in conjunction with industry standards, best practices and customer requirements* Develop sketches specifications, samples and written analyses of proposed packaging in order to present design for approval* Analyze engineering drawings and product specifications to determine part characteristics to ensure proper development of protective packaging taking safety and special handling into consideration* Maintain returnable container master by supplier* Train and educate customers (internal and external) on program* Ensure packaging can be utilized throughout all processes of the operation* Identify key suppliers to utilize returnable containers to maximize safety, storage, protection and shipping* Right size required product and research alternative container methods; Maximize material handling efficiency* Consult with purchasing and manufacturing departments to determine costs and feasibility of proposed packaging* Assist with implementing reusable containers* Provide guidance to purchasing on the supplier cost of the container versus corrugated, wood, etc* One (1) year experience Packaging Engineering, required* One (1) year experience working in a team environment, required* Able to read and understand the regulations of the customer, AIAG and OSHA standards* Mathematics, oral and written communication skills; presentation skills; the ability to sell the vision* Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)* Ability to work independently and as a member of a team* Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast paced environment* Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized with excellent time management skills* Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practicesThe compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
