Crew Leaders needed to work in the fast-growing Solar Industry! The Solar Industry is the fastest growing industry in the State of Texas. Our company, Welby Solutions, has been maintaining the vegetation at utility-scale Solar Farms since 2018. We are looking for Crew Leaders for our 2026 season. The compensation range is $22/hr. to $25/hr., based on prior experience. This position is currently classified as a seasonal job, although there may be an opportunity for full-time employment after the season depending on your job performance. Job Description The Crew Leader position is full-time, with Monday-Friday day shifts. During the season, there will be overtime and travel required (potentially as much as 50% travel). The travel is mandatory for the Crew Leader. You will be managing and leading a crew of 3-5 members, working outdoors performing various vegetation management services at customer utility-scale solar job sites. To be successful in this position you must be a good leader, display a strong work ethic, be reliable and set a good example for your crew. Although preferred, this position does not require previous vegetation management experience and you will be provided training on the equipment we use and programs we implement to successfully complete our jobs. During the season, you will have the opportunity to prove yourself and earn more responsibility. Your work and responsibilities will include: Operating commercial Zero-turn mowers, tractors, and similar operating equipment (training provided) Assisting your crew with the use of hand-held weed-eaters, if needed to complete the customer’s job requirements Applying herbicide applications, if needed (training provided) Maintaining assigned equipment (training provided) Ensuring that your crew is adhering to the Company's and customer’s safety policies Applicants must meet the following requirements: Able to “lead by example” in order to motivate your crew to meet the Company’s production expectations/timelines Ability and willingness to work overtime hours when necessary Ability and willingness to travel with your crew when required (may be 50% or more travel required) Availability for the entire 2026 season Punctuality; reliable transportation to job sites Safety minded Work authorization for the U.S. Physically able to work outdoors in the summer heat, the winter cold, and varying conditions.
