JOB DESCRIPTIONActivities AssistantActivity DepartmentOverviewAs an Activity Assistant, my role is to help improve the daily lives of residents in assisted living, nursing homes, and memory care settings. I focus on creating meaningful activities that keep residents socially engaged, mentally stimulated, and emotionally supported. This role requires patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in working with seniors, especially those living with Alzheimer's or dementia.Schedule: Sunday to Thursday 9AM - 4:30 PMResponsibilitiesPlan and lead activities that match residents' interests, abilities, and needsEncourage social interaction through group activities and community-building eventsSupport residents with daily tasks when needed so they can comfortably participateWork closely with nursing staff and team members to develop personalized activity plansKeep the environment safe, positive, and engaging during all activitiesTrack participation and note progress to help support individual care plansBuild meaningful relationships by offering companionship and emotional supportHelp organize and manage activity schedules to keep everything running smoothlySkills & ExperienceExperience planning events or activities, especially in senior care settingsBackground in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care is helpfulUnderstanding of Alzheimer's, dementia, and memory careExperience with recreational therapy or working with individuals with disabilitiesStrong communication skills when working with residents, families, and staffKnowledge of caregiving techniques and aging-related needsAbility to stay organized and adjust schedules as neededExperience in home care or community-based care is a plus
