Position Summary
The Concrete Estimator will work under the direction of the Senior Estimator and will assist in all estimating efforts at Superior Construction Services. They will have the ability to analyze blueprint specifications, perform materials take off, create proposals and other documents to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for projects or services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Examine the scope of work and review bid drawings and project specifications to fully understand the client’s expectations and project requirements
Communicate with clients to obtain all details for accurate estimating & attend pre bid meetings with client when applicable
Research material pricing, obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying material, and negotiate pricing while maintaining positive vendor relationships
Using the Superior estimating template, take-off quantities of concrete materials and formwork
Prepare written cover letters and accurate bid proposals, including the cost breakdown, clarifications, scope, exclusions and other client requested proposal documentation
Responsible for a successful handoff to the project management team
Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include overtime, as needed
Perform other related duties as may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision
Experience and Education Required
Education & Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred, but not required
Minimum of 1 year of concrete estimating related experience preferred
Industry Knowledge:
Knowledge of administration, estimating, and concrete construction methods
Strong understanding of all aspects of construction practices and methods including contracts, estimating, specifications, codes, scheduling, safety, technology, and equipment
Ability to read plans and specifications
Proficient in Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office suite
Mathematical Skills with the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must know standard conversions used in the construction industry.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
