Come join the excellence!OverviewThe Software area is responsible for the development of computer programming systems and applications including the design, coding, testing and deployment of products and solutions to meet firm obligations.ResponsibilitiesAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Database Engineering Lead with deep expertise in Oracle databases and the AWS data ecosystem, as well as management or team lead experience, who thrives as both a hands-on database expert and a people leader. This role is central to our cloud transformation initiatives and will lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable, secure, and high performance data solutions across hybrid environments.You’ll work closely with Cloud Architects, Engineering, DevOps, and Application teams to modernize legacy systems, streamline data workflows, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.What You'll DoLead a team of database development engineers and serve as a hands-on contributor to deliver complex solutions and projectsDesign, implement, and maintain Oracle databases and AWS-native data services (e.g., RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift),Lead data migration and modernization efforts from on-premises to AWSDevelop and optimize data models for transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) workloadsImplement high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies using RMAN, Data Guard, and AWS BackupDrive performance tuning, capacity planning, scalability, and security hardening of data platformsMentor, manage performance, ensure coding standards, and act as a hands-on technical expert for complex issuesPlan, prioritize, and execute projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with product roadmapsCollaborate with Architecture, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Operations teams to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and other observability toolsManage and participate in production support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and long-term problem remediation.What You Bring12 - 15+ years of experience in Oracle and other RDBMS technologiesDemonstrated experience performing hands-on database development and administration while leading engineering teamsStrong hands-on experience with AWS data services: RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, and S3Proven success delivering complex database initiatives in large-scale, enterprise environmentsProven success in data migration projects using AWS DMS, Schema Conversion Tool, or custom automationExpertise in SQL/PLSQL, query optimization, and indexing strategiesExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting, Python, or other automation toolsFamiliarity with data governance, encryption, and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR)A leadership style rooted in collaboration, mentorship, and leading by exampleExcellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics across all levels of the organizationStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a track record of resolving high-impact production issuesBonus PointsExperience with Oracle ASM, GoldenGate, or ExadataKnowledge of data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and big data technologiesAWS Certified Database – Specialty or equivalent certificationsExperience with Kubernetes and containerized data platforms.Prior experience supporting mission-critical, 24x7 production systemsFor this role, we anticipate paying $165,000k - $203,000K. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
