Senior Financial Analyst

Reports to: Finance ManagerOverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues, generating monthly reports, invoicing, account reconciliation, and communicating with customers. We’re searching for a skilled, detail-oriented financial analyst with excellent communication and record keeping skills. The Financial Analyst will help keep us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.ResponsibilitiesPrepare financial analyses, such as cost analysis, budget-to-actual variance analysis, pricing and margin analysis, commission analysis, forecasting and budgeting support, departmental or project financial performance analysisPrepare and maintain detailed accounting records, including AR, AP, and PayrollReview contracts and work with project managers to ensure all billable items are included in invoicesPerform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distributing cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the AR sub-ledgerMaintain and update accounting files, including customer and banking paperworkResearch and resolve account discrepanciesRespond to client inquiries regarding billing and payment issuesAssist in the month-end and year-end closing process and prepare related financial reports, including budget to actual comparisons, AR aging, cash receipts, & credit analysisEnsure compliance with company policies and proceduresAssist in developing and implementing improvements to financial processesAssist with budget preparation and financial forecastingDevelop predictive financial models to support organizational decision makingAssist in streamlining the accounting processes by identifying areas for performance improvement, automation and integration between systemsExercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and comply with regulationsAssist in developing pricing models and creating innovative strategies for cost reductionAnalyze and establish policies and procedures to improve our cost structure and budgetsThis description provides a current, comprehensive overview of the role, though its responsibilities will evolve as our company grows.Required Skills And QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent3-5 years of experience in a similar role.Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environmentAbility to meet deadlines and work under pressureHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailStrong analytical, research, time management, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work both independently and collaboratively with a teamAbility to keep confidenceExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent customer service skillsExperience in driving process improvementExperience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly ExcelStrategic thinking and organizational skillsStrong proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial systemsBenefitsGroup Medical, Dental, Life, HSA/FSA, and Vision InsuranceSIMPLE IRA Accounts with an immediate vesting of 3% company matchPaid company holidays and personal daysPartial Internet and mobile phone expense reimbursementProfessional development opportunitiesGreat culture with excellent teams, collaborative, smart working, and innovativeLocation & Work EnvironmentThis position is full-time in our office in Okemos, MI, with the potential for a hybrid schedule.At AJ Boggs, we embrace a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural awareness, flexibility, collaboration, and creativity.
