This position reports to the Installation Group Project Manager.This job posting is always active. Resumes will be collected even when there are no openings.Work Model: OnsiteResponsibilitiesEssential Duties & Job Functions:\nWorking with Task Leaders, program/project managers, and SMEs, the welder will assist with:\nthe Shipboard installation and integration of complex audio visual display\nvarious communication and electronic warfare systems\nrelated ancillary and computer based systems onboard naval ships and command centers worldwide.\nOther Duties as assigned.\n\nAccountable For:We expect this employee to have experience in and be familiar with work being performed in or around industrial environments such as shipyards and Naval/Coast Guard bases and piers. As well as various and subcontractor Government sites.Job RequirementsMandatory:\nMust be a U.S. citizen.\nMust have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance.\nMust have High School diploma.\nMust be willing to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS.\nMust be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.\nMust have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.\nMust have experience in welding steel and aluminum.\nMust have experience welding in a shipyard environment.\nMust have the ability to lay out and perform structural modifications and install foundations based on reading SIDs and ICDs\nMust be willing to perform other installation tasks in addition to welding. Such as cable installation, priming, lagging, painting, on load and offload of equipment and materials.\nMust be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.\n\nPreferred:\nExperience brazing copper nickel pipe and Oxy Fuel torch operation.\nCPR and first aid training experience.\nConfined space training.\nClimber safety training.\n\nWorking Conditions:\nThis is a full-time position in support of the Chugach integration and installation tasking team lead. The work may be performed at (Location TBD), industrial areas to include; shipyard, Navy/Coast Guard bases, shipboard and shore site locations.\nWork is performed inside industrial environments and subject to working around exposures to hazards that may cause bodily harm, cuts, bruises, burns, etc.\nWork may also be performed outside even during in climate weather.\nWork may be performed at heights (aloft) where fall protection is required.\nWork may be performed welding and cutting of metal.\nWork may be performed off a ladder.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift 45 lbs., climb vertical ladders, operate and work around heavy machinery.\nWork at heights (aloft).\nOperate power tools safely.\nCarry equipment and machinery around ships.\nAbility to stand and walk most of the shift.\nKneel and crawl at work site.\nCrouch through void openings.\nSafely evacuate ship during an emergency.\n\nReasonable Accommodation:CGS will provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.
