Facilities Systems Engineer Manager
Job Summary
Facilities Systems Engineer Manager will work closely with internal and external teams to maintain current operations, drive incremental improvements, and implement next generation capability at our export terminals and rolling stock maintenance facilities.
Equipment includes but is not limited to thaw sheds, car dumpers, conveyor systems, stacker/reclaimers, ship loaders, overhead cranes, drop tables, turntables, machining centers, and automated production lines.
We are offering excellent pay, including sign-on incentives and a monthly geographic stipend.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
Responsible for the design and execution of projects addressing equipment capability and reliability at Export Terminals and Maintenance Shops with a focus on electro-mechanical controls and control systems.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) on machine automation responsible for oversight of PLC, VFD, HMI, and SCADA systems. Take lead in ensuring reliable operation of critical production processes.
Develop scope, establish budget, set schedule, and determine resources required to effectively execute assigned projects. Compile effective teams to execute projects through to successful completion. Ensure proper oversight of project expenses, review and approve invoices and contractor expenses associated with assigned projects.
Apply sound engineering principles to identify and analyze key performance indicators for opportunities to optimize integrated systems affecting people, processes, equipment, and infrastructure
Establish and maintain quality and safety standards.
Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
3 or more years of experience in leading or managing machine/systems engineering projects
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
5 or more years of experience in leading or managing capital machine/systems engineering projects
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
7 or more years of experience
3 or more years of supervisory experience
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated skill in managing projects that include electro-mechanical control and power, structural, and civil elements
Provide technical guidance and support to field maintenance personnel
Thorough understanding of CSX standards and policies
Ability to create, read, and understand design drawings and specifications
Provide detail estimates for proposed projects
Create AFE packages and develop reason and benefit statements
Microsoft Office skills (Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Effective time management skills to balance multiple projects with competing priorities
Financial acumen
