This role ensures incentive plans are competitive, scalable, compliant, and aligned with NetApp’s business objectives and evolving sales landscape. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, leveraging data-driven insights to drive sales performance, optimize compensation models, and ensure strong governance across all programs. This position does not have any direct reports.Key ResponsibilitiesSales Compensation Strategy & DesignLead the design, evolution, and governance of competitive, performance-driven incentive compensation plans aligned with company goalsDevelop scalable compensation models that support an evolving go-to-market and sales landscapeContinuously assess and optimize plan effectiveness to drive high performance and competitive advantageBalance innovation with simplicity, scalability, and financial disciplineStakeholder Partnership & AdvisoryBuild and nurture strong partnerships with Sales, Finance, HR, and Legal to drive alignment across compensation programsEnsure compensation strategies comply with legal, regulatory, and policy requirementsServe as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by delivering data-backed recommendations and insightsTranslate complex compensation concepts into clear guidance for executive and field stakeholdersGovernance, Compliance & Risk ManagementEstablish and maintain governance structures, approval workflows, and audit processes for compensation programsEnsure consistency, integrity, and fairness of compensation plans across regions and sales rolesMaintain clear documentation, controls, and audit-ready materials to support internal and external reviewsPartner with Legal, Finance, and HR to proactively identify and mitigate riskQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred10+ years of experience in Sales Compensation, Sales Operations, Finance, or a related fieldDeep expertise in incentive compensation strategy, design, governance, and complianceProven ability to influence senior leadership in a matrixed, global environmentStrong analytical and executive communication skillsCompensationThe target salary range for this position is 191,250 - 284,900 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
