JOB TITLE: Motor Assistance Vehicle (MAVT)/ Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO)REPORTS TO: Operations ManagerWAGE/HOUR STATUS: NonexemptThe Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is responsible for all aspects of patients' care within the scope of certification. This position transports ambulatory patients to and from residences and/or skilled nursing facilities to medical treatments and/or appointments in a professional and caring manner.All employees of Mass Transportation Services LLC are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, communicate in a clear and respectful manner, championing the needs of our patients & staff and drive continuous improvement.QUALIFICATIONS:Required:High School graduate or GED from an accredited institutionValid and clean driving recordMust be able to pass pre-hire screening process (Includes: drug & alcohol screenings, background check, fingerprinting, MVR record review)License/Certifications:Clear and valid NJ commercial driver's license (CDL)Current MAVT/MAVO CertificationCurrent American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support CPR CertificationPreferred:Any related experience is a plusSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Ability to receive and give verbal instructions clearly and effectivelyAbility to work as a teamAbility to multi-taskAbility to maintain customer-oriented attitude and emotional control under stress MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Safely load, secure and unload wheelchaired-bound patientsProvide patients with emergency care as needed by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipmentMust be able to push, pull and turn wheelchair with patients into and out of facilities following appropriate protocolsDocument patient information, condition, and careOperate and drive company vehicle in conjunction with applicable safety policies and lawsMaintain all required physical and computerized logs, worksheets, files, and reportsPerform all other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS:The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, prolonged sitting, repetitive hand and arm motions, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and lifting up to 200 pounds. Able to drive long distances daily. Mental demands: Maintain emotional control, ability to effectively communicate. Environmental Conditions: Work outside and inside; moderate exposure to extreme temperature (hot and cold) and vehicle fumes.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
