DirectorBerk Trade School is an accredited New York Citybased trade school specializing in Electrician and Plumbing training programs. Our mission is to prepare students for successful careers in the skilled trades through high-quality instruction, hands-on training, and strong industry partnerships. We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Director to lead school operations and support continued growth and excellence. Berk Trade School has been family owned and operated since 1945. We are a small, vibrant, growing school.Position SummaryThe Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, strategic direction and growth of the school, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and New York State and City regulations. This role oversees academic quality, operational performance, staff leadership, and student outcomes, with a strong focus on workforce readiness and job placement in the electrical and plumbing trades.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership for all academic, administrative, and operational functions as well as strategic direction for the schoolEnsure full compliance with accrediting agencies, NYS Education Department, and NYC regulatory requirementsOversee Electrician and Plumbing curricula, instructional quality, lab/shop safety, and equipment standardsLead, hire, train, and evaluate faculty, instructors, and administrative staffManage budgets, financial performance, and operational resourcesSupport admissions, enrollment growth, retention, and graduation goalsStrengthen job placement effortsBuild and maintain partnerships with contractors, employers, and workforce development agenciesEnsure accurate reporting, recordkeeping, and institutional data managementDrive continuous improvement and strategic planning initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred (Education, Business, Administration, or related field)Minimum 57 years of leadership experience in a postsecondary trade school, vocational institution, or workforce training environmentStrong knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory complianceDemonstrated experience managing staff, budgets, and school operationsExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsCommitment to student success, safety, and workforce developmentPreferred ExperienceFamiliarity with NYC and NYS licensing pathways, codes, and workforce requirementsExperience working with adult learners and diverse urban populationsPrior experience as a Campus Director, School Director, or Senior AdministratorCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceComprehensive benefits packageHow to ApplyPlease submit a resume and cover letter highlighting your leadership experience and familiarity with skilled trades education.
