Line and Prep Cook

Job Description Beachcomber Trading Post Restaurant located on Manasota Key in Englewood, FL is seeking to fill a position for work in our very popular and busy food trailer kitchen. Cooks are invited to apply for immediate openings in our paradise location directly on Lemon Bay.The Cook will serve as both a Line Cook and a Prep Cook and is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served.Cooks are key players ensuring we are serving the best quality food. You will play a crucial role in guaranteeing the smooth operation of our food trailer and delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items...breakfast, lunch and dinner, maintaining cleanliness and food safety guidelines, and collaborating with the food trailer team to provide an outstanding dining experience for our customers.As a Cook in our food trailer, we are looking for someone detail oriented, energetic, hardworking and dependable. You must be able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.Typical Shifts: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM/ 10:00 PMJob ResponsibilitiesPrepares all required menu items.Set-up, maintain and break down prep/cook stations (Prep Table, Grill, Flat Top & Fryers).Prep for service for the next shift.Passionately prepare, portion, and/or cook food items to quality specifications.Cover, date and neatly store all leftover products that are re-usable.Notifies Lead Cook of expected shortages.Ensures that assigned work areas and all equipment are clean and sanitary.Assists in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen.Follow established health and food safety guidelines, recipes, standards, and procedures.Maintains the highest sanitary standards. "Always clean as you go."Cleaning floor mats, sweeping and mopping floors, as required.Cleaning trash cans and disposing of refuse on a regular basis.Assisting with the unloading of deliveries.SkillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment with other food trailer team members.Ability to follow instructions and learn recipes.Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.Team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic.ExpectationsCooks work together as a team.Maintain a neat professional appearance and observe personal cleanliness rules at all times.Follow directions and appropriately communicate with Management and peers to accomplish goals.Follow all policies and processes communicated by Management.Physical DemandsWork flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.Required to stand for extended periods.Be able to bend, twist, stoop, use hands and arms continuously, lift heavy trays and pans.Preferred CredentialsFood Handler CertificationIf you have a passion for food preparation, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a paradise vibe, and have the skills necessary to excel as a Cook, we would love to hear from you!Please submit your resume highlighting your relevant experience.Company DescriptionBeachcomber Trading Post Restaurant is a family owned and operated small business.
