This position assists the Certified School Nurse in providing health services that promote student safety, wellness, and readiness to learn.Current openings; Akron Elementary and High SchoolThis is a non-exempt, part-time, 10-month position reporting to the Building Principal, Certified School Nurse, and Health Services Department Chair.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide first aid care to students and staff in compliance with district and state regulations, as directed by the Certified School Nurse.Assist with health screenings, including vision, hearing, height/weight, dental, and physical screenings.Maintain and update student health records, immunization data, and emergency information in PowerSchool.Perform clerical duties related to health services, including data entry, correspondence, and attendance adjustments when students are dismissed due to illness.Assist with inventory, organization, and ordering of health room supplies and forms.Support documentation and recordkeeping for health programs and screenings.Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, parents, and staff.Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all health-related matters.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Certified School Nurse, Principal, or Director of Health Services.QualificationsEducation & LicensureRN or LPN diploma from an accredited institutionValid Pennsylvania RN or LPN licenseCertificationCurrent CPR/AED certificationExperience & SkillsCommunity or school health experience preferredAbility to assess student health needs and work independentlyStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsProficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with diverse populationsValid driver's license and reliable transportationWork Schedule & CompensationPart-time, 10-month positionSalary and hours in accordance with the current support staff scheduleWorkplace Expectations:Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members.Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner.Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbookOther Requirements: Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance.
