As a Shift Lead, you'll play a key role in bringing our mission to life with your team. You'll lead by example on the floor, ensure smooth operations during your shift, and create an environment where both customers and team members feel valued. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced settings, loves connecting with people, motivating their team, and is passionate about great hospitality.Who We're Looking ForLove for cafe culture and peopleFriendly, open and approachable person who is able to work well with othersStrong knowledge of coffee and equipmentStrong decision making and multi-tasking skillsStrong interpersonal communication skillsPassionate about delivering excellent customer connections to create a regular customer baseAble to work at a fast pace in high volume environmentsBe an exemplary ambassador of our brandDesire to foster growth with team membersWhat You'll OwnCraft beautiful coffee products and serve all Blank Street customers with energy, warmth, and empathySupport your GM and our Training Team to help train new employees to succeed at Blank Street, including ensuring that new team members are following all recipe and training for menu items and processes and that they are in correct uniformOpen and close the location safely and responsibly and ensure that cleaning duties for the store are followed at the beginning, during and end of the shiftPositive and solution focused handling of any minor customer issueAt a store level, leads all initiatives with the operations and marketing teams to increase foot traffic, new customers, daily sales, and operational profitability and develop a loyal neighborhood customer base for your storeRequirements2+ years' experience in a customer service leadership position, preferably in hospitality or coffee18+ years of ageAble to lift 25+ lbs, and to stand for long periods of timeAvailability that meets the needs of our cafesFull Time: 30-40 hours per week, 4-5 days per week and must be able to work 2 peak days (peak days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday)Weekend and holiday availability preferredYou must be authorized to work in the US: upon acceptance of a job offer and completion of the Form I-9 with acceptable documents, Blank Street will provide the federal government with employees' Form I-9 information to confirm authorization to work in the U.S. (a process known as "E-Verify")Benefits & Perks$21.00/hour plus tipsA comprehensive Barista accreditation and training programTenure based paid time offCommuter benefitsSick time1.5x pay on select holidays like New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and JuneteenthComplimentary coffee and treats on shiftFree Blank Street swag
