This position will assist the Head Coach with the organizing, planning and coaching of the JSCC Cross Country and Half Marathon Team.Job DutiesInstruct & teach the fundamentals of cross country and half marathon technique and strategy Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes Travel planning and coordination Transportation of student-athletes, as necessary Equipment maintenance Facilities maintenance Coaching Possessing the technical knowledge and teaching skills to prepare cross country and half marathon student-athletes for competitionsRecruit prospective student-athletes to participate in cross country and half marathons. Ensure compliance with both national and collegiate policies. Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach Minimum Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited college or university Prior coaching experience A commitment to knowing and complying with NJCAA, TCCAA, and institutional rules.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degreeKnowledge, Skills, And Abilities Ability to work with a diverse population Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university settingPhysical Demands / Working Conditions Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Prolonged periods of standing at times Prolonged screen time Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times Balancing Carrying Pulling/Pushing Repetitive Movement Standing Sitting Bending Driving Reaching Twisting RunningPay Rate: $21.53/hour (Up to 29 hours/week)Position Close Date: Open until filled.Special Instructions To ApplicantsTo be considered for this position, you must submit an application.
