Cold Heading Machine Operator - Second Shift
Job DescriptionA manufacturing company is seeking an individual experienced in the procedures and techniques of cold heading, the terminology, machines, maintenance, preventive maintenance, calibration, and job setup. This is a second shift position working 2 p.m. to 12 a.m.Job Duties:Maintains work area and machine in a clean and orderly fashion.Become familiar with all guarding and safety features to safely operate the machine, notify experienced operator or maintenance of any problems, and perform minor daily maintenanceBe familiar with operator's manual, know the machine's parts and terminology relative to machine tooling and adjustments in the die area, handle out-of-control conditions and response the proper use and maintenance of gagesRead part drawings to complete process checks properlyOperate machine and maintain quality after setup by others, including stopping the machine when questions arise, identify the different perishable tools needed for different jobs and knows how tool usage sheets are usedChange minor perishable tooling and utilize usage sheets, install dies and punches into the machine, understand the wire line relative to cutter, quill, dies and transfer, and make minor adjustments to align transfer fingers to the dieMake all changes relative to wire size on payoff, auxiliary feed box, and feed boxOperate forklift safely and possess a forklift licenseUse a computer, be familiar with job setup sheets, and accurately enter information into the ERP systemUnderstand all in process inspections including SPC charting and complete inspections on time, every timeBe familiar with ISO9001 / IATF16949 / ISO14001 processes and work instructions relative to headingPerform preventive maintenance on headers and payoffs and process cold form and job production including loading raw materials, aligning cutter, quill and changing toolingUnderstand the company's Environmental Policy, environmental aspects, Environmental Management System, and the implications of not conforming to our Environmental Management SystemUnderstand their Quality Policy, quality objectives, Quality Management System, and the implications of not conforming to our Quality Management SystemPerform other duties as assignedJob RequirementsJob Requirements:Must have a High school Diploma or GEDMust have a mechanical aptitudeMust complete manufacturing associate - cold form Level 1 matrixMust be able to identify potential problems by reviewing progressionsMust possess a forklift certificationMust be computer literate with accurate data entry skillsMust Lifting and transferring of a variety of materials weighing up to forty poundsMust be familiar with ISO9001/IATF16949/ISO14001 processesMust have the ability to perform preventive maintenance on headers and payoffs and process cold form and job productionMust have a strong work ethic and a positive team environmentOnly candidates that can pass a background check and drug screen will be considered.Area Temps still believes that the best way to serve both our employees and our customers is through personal service.
