They are hiring their first dedicated HR / People Operations Lead — a rare opportunity to own and build the entire HR function from the ground up. If you’ve been the go-to HR person at a startup and enjoy creating structure where none exists, this role is built for you.QualificationsYou will take full ownership of HR operations, including:End-to-end employee lifecycle management (onboarding → offboarding)HR documentation (contracts, agreements, policies)HRIS ownership (Rippling or equivalent) as the single source of truthPayroll coordination and compliance (in partnership with Finance)Benefits administration (health, retirement, vendors)Handling employee transitions, terminations, and severance with care and complianceApplying California employment law to real-world HR decisionsBuilding scalable HR processes and workflows from scratchAs the function matures, you’ll expand into:Performance managementManager enablementEmployee experience & cultureWhat we are looking for:Must-Have:4–7 years of HR / People Ops experienceExperience as an early or first HR hire at a startup (critical)Strong knowledge of California employment lawHands-on HRIS experience (Rippling preferred)Experience managing sensitive employee matters (terminations, compliance, etc.)Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environmentStrong Plus:Experience in Series A–C startupsBuilt HR processes from scratchExposure to performance management or broader People Ops initiativesExperience supporting sales teams or complex compensation structuresMulti-state or international HR exposure
