Senior Accountant – Project Lead (System Implementation)

Our client is Chattanooga is seeking a strong contractor for a long-term project role related to a systems implementation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and comfortable balancing day-to-day accounting operations with project-based work. This role will report to the controller and will be onsite in Chattanooga, TN.Contract LengthTemporary project role (12–18 months). Role will be benefits eligible. Key Duties / ScopeLead accounting support for Lease system conversion Partner with the Controller to support the planning, execution, and rollout of a new leasing system (e.g., ERP, GL, or accounting platform)Assist with system configuration, chart of accounts design, and mapping of legacy data to the new systemEnsure key accounting reports between the old and new systems are documented, validated, and reviewed regularlyLead or support data validation, testing cycles (UAT), and reconciliation between old and new systemsDocument accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls within the new system environmentIdentify process improvements and automation opportunities enabled by the new systemServe as a subject matter expert for accounting-related system functionality post-implementationAct as a bridge between accounting, IT, and data teams Help translate financial data into requirements for technical teamsSupport data migration and integrationWork with: IT / data teamsBusiness analystsProject managers Contribute to: Business requirements (BRDs)Understanding data sources, logic, and reporting changesIdeal candidate will have a mix of accounting and systems/analyst experience
