EMS Adjunct Instructor

Job Summary: Instructs and evaluates didactic, laboratory, and clinical courses assigned in theEmergency Medical Services Program.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Instruction:Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credit/occupational coursesPrepares standardized course syllabi using a provided templateUtilizes current technology in the classroom/labEvaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives based on established course grading requirementsGrades all coursework in a timely mannerPrepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reportsProvides instruction in the theory and practical applications of EMSMeasures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits results to the program directorEnsures safety and security measures are met in the discipline areaMaintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the disciplineOther Duties as AssignedCompetencies:Knowledge of best practices, rules, and testing needs;Ability to break larger tasks into manageable smaller tasks;Oral and written communication skills;Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs;Skill in accurate recordkeeping;Organizational skills;Skills in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public;Decision making and problem-solving skills.Work Environment:This job operates in a professional classroom/lab/field environment. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 poundsPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is an adjunct instructional position. Work load varies and can be scheduled Monday-Friday day/evening hours.Travel:Travel to other campuses is a possibility for meetings, trainings, professional development, etc....Required Education and Experience:* Current Georgia Healthcare Provider License (continuous 2-year licensure) in any EMS level ORRegistered Nurse (RN); Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), Medical Doctor (MD)and*Two (2) years related work experienceCurrent CPR CertificationEMS Instructional Preparation Curriculum within the previous 3 yearsPreferred Education and Experience:* Associate degree or higher* Current American Heart Association (AHA) certificates in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Teaching Experience on the post‐Secondary Level;Experience with Blackboard UltraStrong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills;Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities,duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
