JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: RheumatologistJob Type: Locum TenensLocation: Fort Myers, FLService Setting: OutpatientCoverage Type: Clinical OnlyCoverage Period: 04/08 31/2026Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:30a 4:00p COVERAGE DATESApril 8, 2026 August 31, 2026Monday through Friday daytime clinic coverageNo weekend coverage required PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: AdultsPatient Volume/Census: Approximately 16 patients per dayCase Mix: Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, vasculitis, gout, and connective tissue disorders FACILITY INFORMATION Facility Type: Outpatient Rheumatology ClinicsOffice Equipment Available: Standard rheumatology clinic equipmentSpecialty Backup Available: Multispecialty Lee Health networkSupport Staff Available: Pharmacy staff, Medical Assistants (MA), and Customer Service Representatives (CSR)Reason for Coverage: Supplemental locum coverage across ambulatory rheumatology sites PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Additional Compliance: Provider must obtain NICA coverage for 2026 and submit proof of payment COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURESEvaluation and management of rheumatologic conditionsOrdering and interpretation of laboratory testingOrdering and interpretation of imaging and diagnostic studiesManagement of chronic autoimmune and inflammatory disorders JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Florida Medical LicenseBoard: Board Certified or Board Eligible in RheumatologyDEA: RequiredCertifications: BLS (AHA required)Experience: Prior outpatient rheumatology experience preferredOther Qualifications: Updated CV and attestation required for submission; telehealth experience not required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide outpatient rheumatology care for new and established patientsDiagnose and treat autoimmune and inflammatory conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, and goutOrder and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studiesManage daily in-basket messages and patient communicationsDeliver care across multiple Lee Health outpatient rheumatology clinic locations
