Safety Manager

Job Title: Safety SupervisorCompany: Riggs CompaniesLocation: 950 E Lone Cactus Dr. Phoenix, AZ 85024Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated Safety Supervisor to join our team at Riggs Companies, a leading commercial concrete construction company in Arizona. The Safety Supervisor will assist in implementing, enforcing, and continuously improving our safety program across active job sites, ensuring work is performed in accordance with company policies, client requirements, and OSHA standards. This role will work directly with field leadership, project teams, and craft personnel to identify hazards, coach safe behaviors, lead training, and support incident prevention. This position is primarily a field position. This position is also a "whatever it takes" position that may require 50+ hours a week. We are seeking a committed and hungry professional willing to work hard in an environment with unlimited growth potential.Key Responsibilities:Jobsite Safety Oversight: Monitor active projects for compliance with company safety policies, client requirements, and OSHA regulations. Conduct regular site visits and field audits.Hazard Identification and Correction: Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, stop work when necessary, and coordinate corrective actions with field leadership.Training and Onboarding: Lead orientations, toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and targeted training for high-risk activities.Incident Management: Assist with incident reporting, investigations, corrective action tracking, and communication of lessons learned.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain inspections, safety observations, training logs, JHAs, incident reports, and client-required documentation.Program Implementation: Support site-specific safety plans, company initiatives, and standardized best practices across projects.Field Leadership Support: Partner with operations and field leadership to proactively plan safe means and methods for concrete placement, formwork, rebar, excavations, crane picks, and other critical activities.Subcontractor and Vendor Coordination: Review subcontractor safety compliance and participate in coordination meetings.Safety Culture Development: Promote accountability, engagement, and a strong safety culture through consistent field presence and coaching.Qualifications:5+ years of experience in construction safety, REQUIRED.3+ years of experience supporting commercial concrete, structural concrete, tilt-up, or civil concrete operations, REQUIRED.Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards, hazard recognition, incident investigation, and jobsite safety documentation.Ability to effectively communicate with field crews, Superintendents, Project Managers, and clients.Strong organizational, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital safety reporting.Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.Additional Requirements:Ability to travel to project sites and meetings as needed.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.OSHA 30-Hour Construction, REQUIRED.Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification, REQUIRED.OSHA 510, preferred at hire and expected within 6-12 months if not already held.CHST or STSC, preferred at hire and strongly encouraged as the role develops.OSHA 500 trainer authorization and Competent Person training in fall protection and excavation/trenching are preferred.Why Join Us: At Riggs Companies, we are committed to excellence in construction and providing opportunities for professionalgrowth.
