Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Solaris serves multiple U.S. end markets, including energy, data centers, and other commercial and industrial sectors.About the OpportunityAs a QHSE Advisor you will support several projects to meet the requirements of the Quality, Safety and Environment Management systems. The role will also involve assisting the site teams and managers by recognizing hazards and seeking to minimize risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety, and environmental standards. You will champion QHSE initiatives in the workplace while ensuring that QHSE processes are being adhered to (inspect / assess) in accordance with site standards, best practices, company requirement, and legislated standards for quality, health, safety, and environment.Essential FunctionsPerform critical duties for continuous improvement in QHSE performanceProduce regional QHSE statistics monthly, identify trends and take proactive initiativesLead by example for all QHSE KPIs (safe driving behavior, opportunity reporting, behavioral interventions, stop work authority, etc.)Communicates appropriate QHSE related information on an accurate and timely basisLead or assist management in incident investigations and near misses, while completing required documentationEncourage overall hazard identification and reporting of all incidents and near miss incidents by all personnelMaintain positive, consultative relationships with outside stakeholders to ensure expectations are met in the areas of loss control, environmental performance and qualityProvide ongoing leadership, coaching in safety and loss control techniques, while being visible, approachable and available to all levels, with the objective of improving our efficiency and minimizing our lossesCoordinate and deliver regulatory and internally required annual QHSE training for new hires as applicableCoordinate and deliver monthly safety meetings to employeesCommunicate QHSE standards to employees to ensure compliance with company, regulatory and industry standardsObserve employees to determine proper use of prescribed safety equipment and make related recommendationsDemonstrate the proper use of personal protective and site safety equipmentInspect and assist with DOT field compliance and trainingInspect all areas of operations for injury and environmental hazards and lead identification exercisesEnsure all personal protective equipment, site safety equipment and first aid supplies are adequate, available and readily accessible by crewsConduct and report internal QHSE inspections at the discretion of QHSE DirectorRepresent Solaris QHSE at regional customer and industry safety meetingsRequired to work a 24-hour call basis, be able/willing to travel as required, field travel will represent 90% of work scope.Build detailed presentations covering inspections to review with Field Coordinators, Basin Supervisors, and management. These will be used to relay findings, cover issues found (good and bad), reinforce SOI standards and culture, and get feedback that can be useful to management for improvements to Operational needs.Assist in preparing presentations and attending customer meetings covering PBRs, RCAs, and NPT events as assigned.These will be used to focus on customer engagement and interaction.Assist in monitoring all NPT JPNs ensuring accuracy, and that RCAs have been completed by the basins.Experience/EducationBachelor's or Associates Degree (preferred)4-6 years' experience in quality, environment, health and safetySafety Training Experience desirableStrong working knowledge of OSHA, DOT and other industry relevant federal and state regulationsPractical knowledge of well servicing and/or drilling operations and/or power generation operationsWorking knowledge of hazard identification techniques, safety equipment, and industry best practicesWorking knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis processesProficient in Microsoft OfficeEffective organizational and time management skillsKey Skills and QualificationsExceptional communicator – direct and transparent, skilled problem-solver with proven success in building coalitions and avoiding conflictsTotal ownership mentality – proactively identifies and removes obstacles across numerous ongoing tasksIndependent thinker – provides original thoughts and constantly asking how can we do this betterInnovative thinker – willingness to consider novel solutions and ability to adapt to changeDesirable teammate – impeccable character, humility, and collaborativeRelentless – aspires to contribute and achieve their full potentialOur CREATORS CultureAt Solaris, we believe that staying true to our core beliefs improves our decision-making, productivity and is key to our individual and collective achievements.
