The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in electrical estimating, a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, and excellent analytical skills.Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:Fully understand Rex Moore's pre-award processes as well as the services provided to the clientReview all bid documents in order in order to define scope and identify potential risks and have strong grasp of requirements along with ability to research and mitigate new risksEstablish the clients expectations in order to fully define scope expectationsProvide detailed cost estimates that covers defined scopePerform accurate material takeoffs of electrical systemPlan and coordinate all aspects of the estimating process, including working with vendors, subcontractors, subconsultants and clientsObtain quotes on items such as lighting, power distribution, generators, etc.Review and understand inclusions and exclusions of quotes obtained from outside vendors and select compliant bids, and send required revisions back to non-compliant quoting vendors.Enter material takeoffs into AccubidWork in conjunction with our internal Low Voltage and Fire Alarm estimatorsEnter all project information into recap sheet for review and approval by supervisorSchedule and attend estimate review with preconstruction director and project executive of the region supporting the bidFollow up with clients after bids have been submitted to obtain key information on how Rex Moore finishedComplete the necessary steps upon award of a project to turnover scope, proposal and budget to the project management teamCompile relevant bid documents, quotes, schedules, budget and related items.Complete project briefProvide support to relay scope definition and associated back up of how scope was covered to the PM teamFollow up with client as required to determine open items such as alternates, status of pending contract and releaseEstablish and maintain contact with client to ensure a smooth contract awarding processWhat's in it for You?We're growing and need people excited about honing their craft and developing their career. When on worksites, Estimator II is to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and high viz vest/ shirtWorking around energized equipmentThis role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snowReporting Structure:Reports to - Preconstruction DirectorDepartment - Pre-AwardEOEKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Advanced knowledge and understanding of electrical systems and applications in the commercial and industrial environmentAbility to interface comfortably with key personnel from the General Contractors teamAbility to read and interpret plans and specs (electrical and other trades as they pertain to electrical scope)Thorough knowledge of Bluebeam, Accubid, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, DynamicsWilling to work in a potentially fast-paced environmentAbility to meet deadlines with accurate takeoffs and proposals across complex and/or multiple concurrent estimatesDetail orientatedAbility to work independentlyAbility to work within a team settingAbility to effectively communicate your takeoff approach to other team members and external peopleAbility to start, build and maintain relationships with clients and 3rd parties such as architects and engineers.Willingness to mentor junior team membersPhysical Requirements:Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time.Push, pull, lift, and carry at least 10 pounds.Frequently required to walk and stand. This position may involve infrequent site visits which will require the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof-read documents to identify errors.Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
