Tax Director
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Director to oversee and manage all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting ~$800M manufacturing business, located primarily in North America. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of US & Mexican tax law, including corporate income tax, state, VAT, transfer pricing, and cross-border taxation. This role will collaborate closely with finance, legal, and external advisors to ensure full compliance and optimize tax strategies. What you'll doTax LeadershipOversee the preparation and review of tax provisions, statutory tax planning, compliance, and audits for federal, state, and local tax filings, including income, sales, and property tax returns. Tax Compliance & ReportingLead the preparation of quarterly and year-end tax provisions, disclosures, and compliance reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards. Tax PlanningBuild out and implement statutory tax strategies, identifying opportunities to optimize the organization's tax position and improve tax efficiency. Risk ManagementMonitor the tax landscape, conducting research and analysis on tax positions, emerging laws, and internal controls to identify and mitigate potential tax risks. Audit OversightOversee domestic tax audits and ensure proper management of any external audits, while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Financial AnalysisAnalyze business and financial forecasts to provide insights on the effective tax rate and its impact on cash flow, identifying risks and opportunities to optimize future tax positions. Optimization & InnovationIdentify, recommend, and implement innovative tax strategies, exploring opportunities to improve tax efficiency and reduce tax burdens across the organization. International TaxResponsible for supporting our international business for all tax aspects; including Mexican maquiladora environments for two business units. This includes SAT filings and oversight and management over one tax manager. What we look forBachelor's degree, accounting/ finance preferred. 7-10 years of experience in a similar role. Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in multiple activities and systems successfully and simultaneously. Ability to understand and develop successful partnerships with customers.
