Washington County is seeking an Appraisal Division Manager who manages, directs,and coordinates the activities of the Appraisal Division,including residential, commercial, industrial, personal property,and farm/forest property appraisal programs, annual reappraisal plans,and sales ratio studies; coordinates appraisal activities with other County divisions and departments; and provides highly complex staff assistance to the Director. The Appraisal Division Manager reports to the Director oftheDepartment of Assessment and TaxationinWashington County.Additionally, the Appraisal Division Manager provides operational leadership for the division, overseeing fiscal management, procurement, and resource planning. This role manages personnel functions, including recruitment, supervision, coaching, and performance management, while ensuring efficient daily operations and driving process improvements. The manager supports staff training and professional development,maintainscompliance with organizational standards, and ensures the division has the tools, equipment, and systems needed to deliver highquality services. The incumbent exercises significant independent judgment and decision-making authority and is also responsible for setting operational goals andobjectiveswithin the division and developing and implementing technical and administrative functions and proceduresforthe work group. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in business or public administration, forestry, agriculture, economics, engineering, or a related field that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; AND Five (5) years of work experience in real property appraisal, which includes 3 years of supervisory experience in Property Appraisal or a related field.Additional Requirements: Possession of current registration of a qualified Property Appraiser from the State of Oregon Executive Department, Personnel and Labor Relations Division at the time of application.Mustpossessa driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy.Must pass a criminal background investigation.Selection Process: You can review our standard selection process here.
