We are seeking a Machine Operator Lead to join our team of talented people to help continue our tradition of innovation and market leadership. This position works out of our facility in Newberry, SC. As a Machine Operator Lead, you will perform complex machining and fitting of all kinds of parts, tools, and machines while assisting the Supervisor in leading machine production staff. How you will make a positive impact: Clearly articulate goals, systems, and information to the Team Inspire and motivate others to achieve a common objective Actively listen to build trust and relationships Manage personal emotions effectively to cultivate a positive environment and culture Make informed and timely decisions Assist Supervisor with the daily activities of staff and the production area to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved Use bevel and surface grinders to machine steel Use calipers and micrometers Load and unload steel circle saws from grinding machines Change grinding wheels Add coolant and empty swarf when needed General cleaning of machines and area Work with a high sense of urgency Wear all required PPE Active participation in Lean training and events as requested Must cross-train to other positions as requested The value you bring: Must be at least 18 years of age and high school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of leadership experience Able to work with people to troubleshoot problems. Able to schedule daily work requirements unsupervised to meet customer demands.
