Rooted, stable heavy equipment manufacturer is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. As the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, you will oversee a small team and will report to the VP of Operations. Your daily responsibilities will include: Lead, identify, and facilitate continuous improvement efforts focused on cost savings, scrap reduction, increasing efficiency, etc.Develop, evaluate, and monitor plant KPIs and metricsManage site capital equipment projects, including completing cost justifications and managing timelines and budgetsDetermine manufacturability for new projectsEstablish and improve plant standard operating procedures Participate in and support team-oriented projects and meetingsRead blueprints to troubleshoot manufacturing and production issuesCommunicate with suppliers, vendors, and customers as neededAnalyze production and engineering data and identify areas of improvementInvestigate internal and external quality failures by leading root cause analysis and corrective actionsUtilize formal problem solving skills, including 5WHYTraining, coaching, and mentoring your teamSupport mechanical troubleshooting as neededUtilize AutoCAD and 3D modeling software Other duties as directed by management As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, you will spend up to 50% of the day on the manufacturing floor. Successful candidates will have drive, be able to work independently, be self-directed, enjoy floor time, be able to create "buy-in" on the floor and have the desire to grow with the company. Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role, ideally engineering and/or operations 3. Experience working in fabrication, welding and/or paint manufacturing environments 4. Experience supervising or providing daily direction to others 5. Working knowledge of standard operating procedures 6. Experience supporting root case analysis and corrective actions 7. Experience identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives 8. Mechanical aptitude 9. Ability to read blueprints 10. Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel Skills preferred but NOT required:1. OEM experience 2. Working knowledge of ERP systems 3. Job shop environments 4. QMS environments, such as ISO 9001, etc. 5.
