Description:
This role sits on the Maui squad within the Cruise Line SEAS (Seaware middleware services) organization in Technology & Digital forExperiences. It works closely with Product Management and Engineers from across the company.
About The Role & Team:
The SEAS Team supports a portfolio anchored by Versonix's Seaware Reservation System. The portfolio includes mission-critical middleware, applications, scheduled jobs, and reporting. SEAS currently services *** Cruise Line (DCL) and Adventures by *** (ABD).The studio maintains existing .NET applications alongside greenfield Java/Spring Boot services. This role will support ongoing .NET maintenance and participate in .NET-to-Java/Spring Boot migration work.You will collaborate with engineers, product partners, and cross-squad SEAS teams as the SEAS Team grows.What You'll Do:
Participate in projects encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programsResponsible for performing testing and debugging of applicationsCode may be used in commercial and end-user applications or focus on software and tools supporting infrastructure and technology platformsCode at the component levelWork typically involves large or highly sophisticated software programs and systemsPossess a proven understanding of current programming language and technologies, with strong skills in writing code and completing programming tasksInteract with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modificationsDesign, develop, test, and implement highly scalable software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applicationsBuild and support REST middleware integrating enterprise consumersParticipate in design, testing, deployment, and production support of mission-critical scheduled jobs and servicesMaintain and enhance existing .NET applications in the SEAS portfolio (bug fixes, enhancements, production support)Plan and execute migration of .NET services to Java/Spring Boot, including analysis of legacy code, API parity, testing, and cutover supportRequired Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of related work experienceMastery in Java and experience with industry-standard open-source technologies such as Spring, Tomcat, Nginx, and ElasticsearchExperience with Angular and modern front-end development (TypeScript, component-based architecture, and REST API integration)Exposure to C# and .NET (Framework and/or .NET Core)Ability to read, debug, and refactor legacy .NET codebases while delivering equivalent Java/Spring implementationsComfortable working in an agile environment and experience with Agile delivery (stand-ups, sprint planning, etc.)Experience with the full lifecycle of application development, including best practices of unit testing, code reviews, and documentationExperience with build and deployment technologies such as Jenkins, GitLab, Harness CI/CD, and DockerExperience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, AppDynamics, and SplunkExperience working with cloud platforms and container orchestration technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, and RancherAble to work well with external partners and contractorsStrong communication skills and attention to detailPreferred Qualifications:
