Learning Support Teacher

The Learning Support Teacher will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and specialists to provide tailored instructional strategies and interventions that promote academic success and personal growth for all students.Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with learning challenges, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations.- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students.- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement, using data to inform instructional practices.- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.- Monitor and evaluate student progress regularly, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure academic achievement.- Facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and development.- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and learning support.- Advocate for students' needs within the school and the broader community, promoting awareness and understanding of learning differences.- Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEP documentation, and communication with stakeholders.Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.- Valid teaching certification in special education or a related area.- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in an elementary school setting.- Strong understanding of educational best practices, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
