Our work is rooted in service, dignity, cultural respect, and long-term impact.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Volunteer Public Relations (PR) Volunteer to help shape and amplify Abinchi's public voice. This role focuses on storytelling, media outreach, and relationship-building to increase awareness of our mission, programs, and impact.This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys communication, advocacy, and using words to elevate community-centered work.ResponsibilitiesAssist with writing and distributing press releases, media pitches, and announcementsHelp identify and research media outlets, blogs, podcasts, and community platformsSupport storytelling around program milestones, campaigns, and impactDraft talking points and short organizational statementsMaintain a simple media contact listCoordinate with the content and fundraising teams to align messagingSupport visibility for campaigns, events, and special initiativesQualificationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsInterest in public relations, communications, or nonprofit advocacyAbility to write clearly and professionally for different audiencesOrganized and able to meet deadlinesComfortable using Google Docs/SheetsExperience with PR, communications, journalism, or media outreach is a plus (not required)Respect for faith-aligned, ethical, and culturally grounded storytellingWillingness to learn and collaborateWhat You'll GainHands-on experience in nonprofit public relations and communicationsPortfolio-ready writing and outreach experienceProfessional reference upon successful serviceFlexible schedule that honors your availabilityOpportunity to help elevate stories that matter and serve communities with dignity
