Scratch Bakery Cafe is currently interviewing for full-time Pastry Cook positions at all levels of experience.We pride ourselves on the freshly prepared items we serve from our bakery and are looking for experienced and passionate people to help support our team. One year commercial baking experience preferred.$500 sign on bonus after successful completion of 90-day Introductory period.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaking of doughs and fillings for pastries and cookiesBaking and traying of morning pastries for distribution to our locationsPrepare all food and baked items as directed in a sanitary and timely mannerUnderstand and complete daily prep list assigned by the pastry chefEnsure all ingredients are in stock and communicate ordering needsAssist higher level pastry cooksCleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers/freezer, and storage areasWatch for and identify spoilage in productPerform additional duties as assignedSkills & AbilitiesGood basic knowledge of cakes, tarts, fillings, icings and dessert assemblyStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to collaborate in a team environment with excellent communication skillsAbility to work flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Must be willing to work extended hours and be flexible during the months of November and December. Time off requests will not be granted during this period.Willingness to learn, ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations is required.ScheduleFlexible, but we are seeking someone that must be available Sundays and Mondays from 4:00 am to 12:30 pm for one of the positions.Willingness to learn, ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations is required..
