Founded in 1920, Akerman is recognized as one of the country’s premier law firms, with more than 700 lawyers in 25 offices throughout the United States.Akerman is seeking a Client Development Manager-Litigation Practice Group. The Client Development Manager assists in implementing programs that support practice group business plans and enhance the business and reputation of the firm. The incumbent will successfully assist in managing multiple competing priorities within a matrix environment and establish solid working relationships with diverse personalities across multiple offices. Akerman has adopted a hybrid work environment.ResponsibilitiesWorking with the Senior Client Development Manager to develop and implement client development, marketing, and communications plans. Meeting with practice group leaders on a frequent basis.Creating and monitoring client development programs, including cross-selling initiatives.Managing development of client-specific presentations, proposals, and RFP/RFI responses as well as other client-facing materials.Managing development of all practice-related collateral for general use in print and on firm website.Supports senior manager to onboard new laterals joining the practice group. Develops story placement ideas for media relations team and identifies speaker placement opportunities.Tracks completed matter details and manages practice submissions for directories, databases, and other publications as needed.Identifies opportunities for sponsorships and other brand-building opportunitiesCoordinates practice-related events and sponsorships.QualificationsBachelor’s degree8 to 10 years of experience, preferably with an AmLaw 100 or professional services firm, in a business development or marketing roleStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to meet multiple and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writingAbility to work with individuals at all levels across the firm, and to work well in a team environment, collaborating effectively with team members with varying perspectivesStrong proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and AdobeExperience working with Private Equity and Investment Banking industries preferredWe offer a competitive compensation and benefits package.
