Primary Purpose
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in reading/language arts designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop literacy skills necessary for success at the next grade level and beyond.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate Core Subjects EC6 certification
Demonstrated knowledge of reading instruction and literacy development
Ability to instruct students and manage classroom behavior effectively
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Experience teaching elementary reading/language arts
Knowledge of structured literacy and evidence-based reading practices
Experience with small group instruction and intervention strategies
Major Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with TEKS
Provide differentiated reading instruction to meet diverse student needs
Utilize data to drive instruction and monitor student progress
Maintain a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues, intervention staff, and administration
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
Participate in campus and district professional development
Support campus initiatives and contribute to a positive school culture
