Job Description Senior Metallurgist – Aluminum CastingWe're looking for a Metallurgist with Aluminum Casting & Aluminum Extrusion experience for our client's operation in Sherman, TX.KEY QUALIFICATIONS10+ years of experience in metallurgy & cast house5+ years of aluminum extrusion experienceStrong knowledge of soft aluminum alloys, billet casting & remelt operationsStrong knowledge of heat treatment and metallurgical propertiesDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex metallurgical and process issuesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience with homogenization, quenching, and aging processesFamiliarity with metallurgical testing methods (tensile, hardness, microstructure analysis)EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Materials Engineering or very related.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Include:Responsible for supporting all metallurgical aspects of the aluminum billet casting for the extrusion process, including alloy development, billet quality, process optimization, and product performance.Provide metallurgical support across casthouse (remelt/billet) and extrusion operationsDevelop and optimize aluminum alloys to meet customer and application requirementsAnalyze and troubleshoot extrusion defects (surface, mechanical, dimensional)Support billet casting, homogenization, and heat treatment processesEstablish and maintain process standards and metallurgical best practicesLead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for metallurgical quality issuesSupport new product development and qualification of new alloys or profilesCollaborate with customers and internal stakeholders on technical issues and approvalsCompany DescriptionWe are an Executive Recruiting Agency, working on behalf of our client.Company DescriptionWe are an Executive Recruiting Agency, working on behalf of our client.
