This is an exciting opportunity to support the Department of the Air Force at Beale AFB or Alexandria, VA.We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join a high-impact team supporting Department of the Air Force enterprise command and control programs. In this pivotal role, you will lead the orchestration of Agile Release Trains, facilitate cross-team collaboration, and drive the integration, testing, and deployment of advanced command and control capabilities. You will champion the use of modern Agile frameworks, enterprise planning tools, and DevSecOps pipelines to deliver operational outcomes, accelerate delivery, and continuously improve quality and cost efficiency. As the RTE, you will collaborate with government and contractor stakeholders, clarify roles and responsibilities, and ensure alignment across decoupled task orders in a highly dynamic environment.Primary ResponsibilitiesFacilitate the Agile Release Train (ART) events, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, & System DemosCoordinate and synchronize multiple Agile teams to ensure alignment with program objectives and priorities.Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using tools such as Jira Align and other enterprise Agile planning solutions.Coordinate release trains, assess impacts to other DevOps processes, and schedule release timelines for fixes and enhancements.Foster continuous improvement by coaching teams on Agile and SAFe practices, and by implementing feedback from retrospectives.Ensure transparency and communication across all stakeholders, including government, contractors, and external partners.Track and report ART metrics, progress, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence within the ART.Basic QualificationsBS degree in engineering and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or master's in engineering with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.Active and current Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.5+ years of direct, action-oriented experience in Agile, with 2+ years as an RTE, program manager, or program-level leader executing complex initiatives.Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and reporting tools like Tableau or Power BI.Demonstrated experience directly managing program delivery in fast-paced, large, complex software systems, including hardware integration and test.Experience in leading and executing process engineering or process optimization projects.Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment execution.Desired SkillsSAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) is highly preferred.Extensive, hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle (e.g., as a developer, tester, analyst, product manager, or project/program manager).Experience affecting change in Agile organizations.Experience working with multi-disciplinary development teams.Knowledge of Open Mission Systems (OMS), Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI), and related standards.SAP Program experience preferred.Pay RangePay Range: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
