Details Located on a high-acuity Surgery/Trauma floor (Unit 6B) within an inner-city Level 1 trauma center Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, including gunshot wounds, quadriplegics, and paraplegics 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week Patient ratio of 5:1 Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary during night shift ED nurses complete a formal nurse handoff upon patient admission to the unit Block scheduling is not available — candidates must be flexible with assigned shifts Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month Epic EMR is used and experience is required No on-call requirements Requirements Active RN license — GA license or Compact RN license required Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery/Trauma specialty experience required Experience in high-acuity, high-volume trauma environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced situations with complex and diverse patient cases Proficiency in Epic EMR required Additional Information This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex, high-volume trauma cases No RTO (time off requests) will be approved during the contract Local candidates are accepted for this position American Traveler Job ID P-687008.
