Line Cook

Description:We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented line cook to prepare made-to-order breakfast and lunch items accurately and efficiently. Core Responsibilities: Prepare and execute a variety of menu items by following established recipes and portioning guidelines Cook food items according to specified cooking methods, temperatures, and portion sizes to ensure optimal taste, texture and presentation Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients; cooking food to food safe temperatures and maintaining a clean and organized work area Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth, efficient service Ensure that all menu items that leave your station meet Surf Bagel standards in terms of taste, appearance and portion size Participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks, including equipment cleaning, dishwashing, and kitchen organization to uphold cleanliness standards and ensure a safe working environment Requirements:Job Requirements: Read tickets accurately and quickly prepare menu items according to standards Keep assigned area clean and walk-ins, reach-ins clutter free with restaurant issued cleaning supplies Maintain master knowledge of food items and recipes Label, restock, discard and maintain all food items to avoid service disruption Adhere to essential food safety requirements Follow basic knife skills and kitchen safety guidelines Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time Useful qualifications: Proven experience working as a line cook or in a similar culinary role Familiarity with operating and maintaining various kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, fryers etc. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet service demands and maintain a smooth workflow Strong focus on accuracy and precision to ensure consistency and quality Additional Info:Job Benefits: Fun, respectful, team oriented environment Free employee shift meal 25% discount when not working PTO + Sick days (subject to eligibility) Health insurance and 401k benefit (eligibility based on hours worked) Competitive wages plus shared tips Daily Pay available
