Please note that this is a short term, temporary position expected to last 2 months*The Role, At a GlanceA Material Handler I works as part of a team to provide material support within a dynamic manufacturing environment. A Material Handler I flexes easily between tasks, and seeks to be proficient at all tasks within their assigned functional area. Compenation for this role is $17.50 per hour.How You'll ContributeDelivers material to point of consumption in response to Kanban signalsStores and retrieves parts in warehouse using first-in first-out processAccurately performs inventory transactions and adjustmentsActively participates in daily in Tier 1 Daily Management System (DMS) meetingsYou'll Also Support WithContributing to continuous improvement projectsKeeping work area well organized and cleanAssisting with performing cycle countsAdditional duties as assigned by SupervisorA Successful Candidate Should Have0-1 years of related work experienceMust be able to work Monday - Thursday shift from 5:00 AM to 3:30PM or 3:00PM to 1:30AMMust be forklift certified or capable of becoming forklift certified at BIAMP SystemsTraining in and experience with Lean manufacturing principles is preferred, but not requiredFamiliarity with computers and Windows based applications is preferredAbility to adjust work pace in response to daily production dataPossesses excellent verbal and written skills in EnglishMust be able to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and diffuse challenging situations using acceptable and appropriate methodsAble to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detailAbility to work independently and in a team environmentMay be required to alternate schedules to meet production goalsAttendance is a critical function of this positionWork EnvironmentAbility to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. periodicallyStand or sit for long periodsPerform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bendingWork in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levelsUse tools that require fine hand skillsVisually, observe and differentiate small moving partsAbility to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areasWho is Biamp?We make the world’s most extraordinary audio and video solutions.
