Sanitation Technician
Work Location: Bellwood Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.This is a DAY SHIFT position, hours are 5am-5:30pm. TWO NIGHTS ON, TWO NIGHTS OFF, EVERY OTHER WEEKEND (SAT, SUN, MON) OFF***Want to make an impact?The Sanitation Technician will plan, direct, and control daily and nightly cleaning activities to meet established standards. Position is responsible for following proper procedures to clean industrialized equipment, ensure adherence to food safety standards and assist in minimizing down time.Ways you will make a differenceManage plant sanitation procedures, programs and regulatory requirements, ensuring all plant equipment is clean and safe for productionStrictly adhere to sanitation, GMP, and safety standardsPerform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules for the facility interior and exterior and ensure superior sanitation of equipment and surrounding areasMentor and motivate Janitors and Balers on shift, providing training and development to optimize performance and personal growthParticipate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvementsFacilitate problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issuesFollow up on work orders with the appropriate associates to ensure expeditious performance of the requested workMonitor the Chemical storage and dispense the appropriate concentration for cleaning activitiesReceive and track sanitary and chemical inventoryMonitor sanitation team in the use of chemicals and proper safety procedures, checking inventory levels of chemicals and ordering supplies when necessaryUnderstand and demonstrate the Company’s core values and operating principlesAdhere to all company policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned support to Ferrara Candy Company business objectivesSkills that will make you successfulSense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines; self-directedStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to plan, organize and prioritize; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectivesBasic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office softwareWorking Conditions - This position requires knowledge and awareness of manufacturing and industrial sites. Protective gear will be required where appropriate.
