We are looking to bring on a new crew to work the Metro NY market. Must be local or within 2 hours from Manhattan.The general role of a Tower Technician, Top hand and Foreman- Wireless Services is to safely and efficiently complete equipment installations, repairs, and upgrades at communications sites both on the ground and at elevated heights with and without direct supervision. In addition, a Tower Technician (Foreman) will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of up to 4 members.Pay rates: All pay rates are subject to market and experience.Tower Tech 1 pay $20 to $24 DOE.Tower Tech 2 pay $24 to $28 DOE.Tower Tech 3 (top hand) $27 to $32 DOE up to $35Foreman $35 to $40 up to $45 in some markets for well rounded, certified foreman.Comprehensive BenefitsHealth/Life insurance401(k) retirement plan with matchShort/Long term disabilityPaid lodging, per diem, and transportation provided for out-of-town work-Medical, Dental, Vision, MetLife, MetLaw, other benefits as well.Responsibilities:Build customer infrastructure, such as tower erection, expansion, and upgrades to new and existing wireless networks (e.g., tower mods, L&A installs)Read and understand site documents such as Construction Drawings, Radio Frequency Data Sheets, Structural Analyses, Mount Analyses, Tower Modification Design Drawings, etc.Safely and efficiently complete equipment installations and upgrades at elevated heightsOperate Test Equipment (RF Sweep Gear, PIM, and Fiber Testing)Train and mentor lessor experienced team membersPerform and oversee elevated work activities as required or directed.Assist Foremen in the scheduling of labor, materials, and other job tasks.Lead Wireless Services Tower team members as required (in absence of Foreman or Manager)Develop and execute rigging plans for hoisting operations per industry standards.Other DutiesThis job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required for this position. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Qualifications1+ years of experience installing and maintaining cabling, antennas, microwave dishes, tower builds, site inspections, lighting systems, wireless carriers preferred.Valid Driver's License required.Ability and attitude to follow rigid job safety standards and properly utilize specialized Personal Protective EquipmentMaintain certifications for courses such as: Authorized/ Competent Climber, Authorized/Competent Rescuer, ANSI A10.48 Rigging Certification, Capstan Operations, RF Awareness, OSHA 10, First Aid/ CPR and other certifications as required.Willingness to take on and learn new tasks and skills.Able to work independently and as a member of a team.Willingness to work in extreme environmental conditions.Proficient computer skills and ability to use software applications including Microsoft SuiteExperience in operating test equipment [i.e., RF (radio frequency) sweep gear, PIM (passive intermodulation), and fiber testing]to include.Strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenFluency in English is required.Possess demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.Working ConditionsWalk, crawl or kneel / use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders, stairs, or other elevated/ fixed structures for extended periods of time.Sit/stand for extended periods of time.Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations.Wear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA/ANSI requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, required PPE for elevated work, fire retardant clothing, protective eye wear, etc.Be safety and customer-focused, without exception.Additional Eligibility QualificationsThis position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
