Fiber Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Installation Technician responsible for installing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems for residential and commercial customers. The role involves handling both aerial and buried installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities: Install and test fiber optic cables (aerial and buried) from PFP to customer premises. Perform signal testing using power meters and troubleshoot with VFL/OTDR. Clean and connect fiber optics, ensuring optimal signal strength. Install Slack NIDs, terminate drops, and configure inside wiring. Conduct aerial installations following OSHA guidelines. Self-bury fiber cables where allowed or ensure proper placement. Assist customers with service setup and registration. Diagnose and resolve installation issues, escalating as needed. Ensure quality control and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: 2+ years of fiber optic installation experience. Proficiency with fiber optic tools (power meters, VFL, Corning CFST One-Click). Experience with aerial and buried installations. Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA). Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Have a Truck, Fiber glass lader and mid span ladder.
