Datacenter Network Support Engineer L1

Job Description:Maintains the computing environment by identifying network requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring network performance.Job Responsibilities:Break-fix:1. Visually inspecting devices to assess equipment status2. Rebooting routers, servers, storage devices or other equipment3. Providing loop-back cables in order to test circuits remotely4. Re-seating or replacing components or cables5. Removing Alternating Current ("AC") or Direct Current ("DC") power from equipment6. Cleaning equipment or connectors7. Connecting a client-provided test set or test router to equipment8. Swapping removable storage media9. Installing or replacing modular equipment components10. Dispatching equipment for repair11. Cleaning fibers12. Taking light levels13. Installing loop backs14. Providing planned maintenance or circuit migration support15. Installing Small Form Factor Pluggable (each an "SFP") or Gigabit Interface Converters (each a "GBIC")16. Troubleshooting hardware problems on any device17. Racking and de-racking of any device installed18. Labeling/inventory equipment plus digital picture and serial number recording19. Tape backup: cassette exchange and storage in strongbox20. Power cycling a router, server, switch and soft-booting a server21. Follow Data Eradication processProvisioning:1. Install cables or optics for new circuits2. Re-connect, disconnect / replace existing circuits3. Testing of cables and opticsDeployment:1. Physical Cabling2. Cable Management3. Northbound Cabling (Fiber/Copper/Power)4. Rack/Stack/Jack5. Installation Support (PDU, Network Switches, etc.)6. E-Waste and other clean-up activitiesJob Requirements:Proven experience in a network administrator roleHands-on experience in networking, routing and switchingExcellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructureExperience with firewalls, Internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desiredAbility to set up and configure server hardwareFamiliarity with backup and recovery software and methodologiesGreat at organizing, prioritizing and multitaskingCCNA, Network+, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE or equivalentBSc degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalentAssociate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from three-year College or technical school with an emphasis in electronics required; Bachelor's Degree preferredMandatory Skills
