Description
Title: Program Assistant
Classification: Temp; part-time, hourly
Schedule: 20hrs/week, Tues-Thurs 2:30pm-8:00pm and Sat 9am-12:30pm
Overview
Riverzedge Arts uses innovative applied and work-based learning strategies to teach art, design, and critical thinking to the youth of northern RI, providing our participants as well as our community with a path to economic and cultural sustainability. We provide real-life context and training that prepares youth for professional opportunities and provides them with the skills they need to shape their communities through productive civic engagement.
The Program Assistant reports to the Arts Education Director and supports the administration and implementation of all of our arts education programs, including youth and adult workshops and classes and community engagement events. In addition, this role is active in our teen Arts Workforce Training (AWT) Program, serving as an assistant within that program Tuesday-Thursday afternoons. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a can-do spirit, and thrive on being part of a small, collaborative team of creative thinkers, educators, and makers.
Assist in promotion of and recruitment for all programming
Complete and maintain required program records such as attendance, daily schedules, meals, and all rosters;
Producing reports regarding youth data as assigned;
Overseeing the organization and implementation of in person sales, events, and markets
Assist the Public Art Studio Coordinator and Arts Education Studio Coordinator in studio management and program participant support and customer service (including AWT transportation, meals, etc)
Producing reports regarding youth data as assigned; and
Other program tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Age 18+ and must possess high school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of office experience at a community-based nonprofit or arts organization preferred;
Experience and/or interest in visual art/making;
Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively as needed;
Ability to draft effective written communication in English for a variety or audiences;
Must successfully pass all BCI requirements;
Must be or become certified in First Aid and CPR
Five (5) Days PTO, increasing in accordance with BGCNRI Policy
