Position OverviewAs a Project Control Intern you will assist in the development of work breakdown structure, earned value methods, and critical path techniques. Learn to implement change control and support project controls staff in the preparation of timely and accurate baseline change proposals. Show the ability to understand the development and maintenance of resource loaded schedules and assist with updates as needed. Project Control interns must have strong attention to detail, as well as excellent critical-thinking and project management skills. An intern should be able to communicate effectively and use logical judgment, especially when dealing with adjustments and meeting deadlines. Your Day to Day as a Intern in Project ControlAssist in the development of work breakdown structure and earned value methods and critical path techniques. Participate in department meetings. Learn to implement change control and support project controls staff in the preparation of timely and accurate baseline change proposals. Show the ability to understand the development and maintenance of resource loaded schedules and assist with updates as needed. Assist with generating schedules, reports for labor hours, costs, and earned value. Work with project staff to support analysis of earned value data and explanation of variances. Learn to status schedules and assist with preparations of schedule/cost status reports. Assist with reports and historical information as well as tracking and trending data. Other job related duties as assigned. Required QualificationsMust be a currently enrolled student, pursuing a Bachelor's degree. PC Skills to include Microsoft and ability to learn P6 and SAP. Strong interpersonal and both oral and written communication skills. Have basic concepts of Project Controls, Cost Engineering, Scheduling, Earned Value Management and Estimating. Requires U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications. Pay: $19.06 - $26.78 The starting hourly rate for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $19.06 and $26.78 per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
