We are seeking a seasoned Director - Corporate Banking (Insurance Sector) to join the Global Financial Institutions Group (FIG). This role combines Portfolio Management and Relationship Management , focusing on credit underwriting, deal structuring, risk evaluation, and client relationship growth within the insurance sector.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in originating and structuring lending transactions , driving cross-sell opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships across a diverse portfolio of insurance clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship & Business Development
Build and expand relationships with insurance clients (Life, Non-Life, Distribution segments).
Identify opportunities to cross-sell banking and capital market products.
Develop new client relationships and grow share of wallet.
Deliver client presentations and lead pitch discussions.
Deal Structuring & Credit Management
Lead credit underwriting, structuring, and risk adjudication.
Prepare credit applications, memos, and deal documentation.
Conduct financial modeling and analysis for transactions.
Perform due diligence including client visits and industry analysis.
Portfolio Management
Manage a diverse portfolio of insurance clients across geographies.
Monitor client performance, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
Ensure alignment with bank risk appetite and compliance standards.
Collaboration & Strategy
Partner with internal teams (capital markets, product groups).
Act as a key member of deal teams to maximize sector penetration.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
Risk & Compliance
Evaluate credit, market, operational, and regulatory risks.
Maintain adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Balance risk-return trade-offs effectively.
Must-Have Skills
10+ years of Corporate Banking experience (Insurance sector focus)
Strong expertise in:
Lending & portfolio management
Credit underwriting & deal structuring
Financial modeling & analysis
Proven track record in client relationship management & cross-selling
Deep knowledge of financial products & banking solutions
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong communication and presentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications
MBA / CFA or equivalent (Finance, Accounting, or related field)
Experience working with global insurance clients
Exposure to capital markets and structured finance
Advanced knowledge of financial tools and database systems
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field (required)
Advanced degree or certifications (MBA / CFA) preferred
