Usability Designer II

DPP is seeking a Usability Designer for an opportunity in Columbia, SC. Work location: Partial Onsite - Onsite on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and as needed Duration: 6 months Term: W2 position Work authorization: Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level US security clearance (Public Trust). Position summary: On a typical day the Usability Designer could be working on one or more of the following for a particular project throughout the day:Conducting user research to gain insights into user behavior, preferences, and pain points.Creating user personas to help them understand and empathize with the user, and to design solutions that meet their needs.Creating wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that help to guide the development of the product. Also working closely with developers to ensure that the design is implemented correctly.Testing the product with users to identify any usability issues and iterates on the design to improve the user experience Required technologies: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Graphic Design software (Figma or similar) Soft skills:Strong communication skills are key (written and verbal)Ability to lead or facilitate meetings and work sessionsOrganizedAdaptable, flexibleWorks well with others Minimum required work experience: 2 years of user interface design experience. About the team:Digital and Leveraged Systems – Usability Design (DLS UX Design) is a team dedicated to supporting applications within the Digital and Leveraged Systems portfolio.The team consists of 13 professionals, including Usability Designers and Business Systems Analysts, who independently contribute to a variety of projects aligned to their respective areas.Work hours - 9am – 5pm. Overtime as needed (rarely happens) Required education/equivalencies: Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Behavioral Research, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;OR, Associates degree in the above, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 6 years without a degree) Interested?
